We have all heard that necessity is the mother of invention. I would go on to say that it is also the driving force behind innovation. I graduated from high school with an interesting problem: I was so perfectly politically incorrect being white, anglo-saxon, male and protestant (without the negative connotations of course) that every scholarship I applied for wouldn't give my application a second glance. Classes were starting soon and tuition wasn't getting any cheaper. What to do?
Like any normal 18 year old, I started teaching myself web design. Somehow, I had enough wisdom in me to listen to my old man's advise to learn a technical skill and start a business to get myself through school. It was really overwhelming at first. How in the world does some code make stuff appear on a page? I kept at it and after a year, I felt I knew enough to get started. At the young age of 19, I started Innovative InSite. Since then, you can see what it has turned into.
Web design is just as creative as entrepreneurial. I enjoy the creation process and watching my clients sites come to life, materializing out of nothing more than an idea. Though web design is almost a form of art, it is also, at its core, marketing. Combine my love of creating with an entrepreneurial upbringing and you have my philosophy on web design.
